With over 500 years of history, the fair continues to be one of the major autumn events in Faro and pays tribute to the Saint who gives it its name.

On the first day, Thursday, October 15, the fair opens at 5:00 PM. On the remaining days, it generally opens at 3:00 PM.

The gastronomy pavilion has its own schedule, usually opening at 5:00 PM on weekdays and at 3:00 PM on weekends.

Among the flavors most associated with the Feira de Santa Iria are the traditional freshly made "farturas" (fried dough pastries), dried fruits, sweets, and other typical products of popular fairs.
