10. Stroll through the Ribeira Market

Next to the Gilão river you will find the old Mercado da Ribeira. It is currently a pleasant area to stroll around, take a break on a terrace and start discovering the city center.

Tavira has an unusually rich religious heritage. Among the best-known temples are the Santa Maria do Castelo Church, the Misericórdia Church and the São Paulo Church.
